Dr Shaheen Shahid Ansari’s car A car belonging to Shaheen Shahid Ansari – arrested in connection to the Delhi blast case – was found parked in Faridabad’s Al Falah University on Thursday.
“A suspicious (Maruti) Brezza car at Al Falah University in Dhauj is being inspected by Jammu and Kashmir Police,” a Faridabad police spokesperson said.
The Haryana-registered vehicle, found in the university parking lot, was handed over to the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the evening. “We have handed over the car to the J&K Police. The car belongs to Dr Shaheen Shahid Ansari. It now may be taken to Srinagar,” a Faridabad Police spokesperson said.
Students and staffers at the university said the police have been conducting searches inside the campus, including faculty quarters and hostel rooms.
“Both the Brezza and the red Ecosport (belonging to Umar Nabi who allegedly drove the car that had exploded outside Red Fort on Monday) were frequently seen on the campus,” a student said.
After a white i20 exploded near the Red Fort on Monday evening, investigators traced a second vehicle — a red Ford EcoSport — linked to the terror module, in Faridabad’s Khandawali village on Wednesday.
The vehicle was found in a farmhouse belonging to Umar’s friend, who has been detained for questioning.
