Ragging complaint at AIIMS

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) administration received a complaint about ragging in the institute’s hostel. In a letter addressed to AIIMS director Dr R C Deka,and dean Professor Rani Kumar,hostel wardens,junior and senior resident doctors have alleged that senior students at the hostel have been ragging their juniors.

It has been learnt that the complaint was forwarded to the office of the AIIMS director through hostel superintendent Dr H H Das. Officials at AIIMS,however,said there was “nothing conclusive” about the complaint.

According to Sailesh Yadav,deputy director (administration) at AIIMS,“An inquiry team has been set up to investigate the allegations and it is expected to submit their report shortly following which appropriate action will be taken.”

Even as the administration investigates the complaint,senior students at the hostel have been instructed to avoid mingling with their juniors.
