Amity International School,Sector-43,Gurgaon,celebrated its Senior Prize Distribution Day.
Meritorious students of classes V to XI were awarded prizes in academics,co-curricular activities and sports.
Students of Class X who scored a perfect 10 CGPA were rewarded with individual shields at the function,which was graced by Chairperson Dr Amita Chauhan. Scholarships were given to outstanding students who have scored above 90 per cent in their classes. A jubilant chairperson blessed and congratulated Vice-Principal Vishakha Chitnis,teachers and the prize-winners on the occasion.
CBSE workshop for teachers
Delhi Public School,Raj Nagar,hosted a CBSE workshop regarding CCE and Formative Assessment Training Programme for teachers. Around 80 teachers from 50 newly affiliated schools from the NCR and Allahabad region participated in the workshop,which apprised them about effective learning-teaching methodology. The resource person,Ms Manleen Ahluwalia,accompanied by Ms Kalpana Kapoor,emphasised on the role of teachers as guides and facilitators in the contemporary educationalscenario. Many teachers at the workshop felt that the FA training programme was not only going to help children but also teachers in realising the potential of children.
St Marks School students felicitated
It was a proud moment for St. Marks Sr. Sec. Public School,Meera Bagh,as two of its students,Palak Hajela and Shivangi Arora of Class XI,were
honoured with Academic Excellence Award and Scholarly Creativity Award at the India International Centre,Delhi. They were awarded by Wajahat Habibullah,Chairperson,National Commission for Minorities,at an event organised by Knowledge Resource Development & Welfare Group.The other special guest of the event was Dr Véronique Briquet-Laugier,a renowned life
science scientist & head,Science department,French Embassy,India.
Space workshop at Amity International
Young Amitians participated in a unique workshop conducted by SPACE ISS EarthKAM (Earth Knowledge
Acquired by Middle School Students) at Amity International School,Pushp Vihar,for students of the Amity chain of schools. The workshop was attended by several Amity schools. During the four-hour-long workshop conducted by the SPACE scientific team,students learnt about orbital dynamics and were told about how to select locations. The students selected their target images and finally sent a request to ISS through the EARTHKAM website. The astronauts on board the ISS photographed the desired areas and sent them to the children to download.
Award ceremony at Delhi Public School
Delhi Public School,Rohini,celebrated its Scholar Badge and Award Ceremony for senior school students. The chief guest for the occasion was Professor Deepak Pental,the former Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University. The guest of honour,Dr Sharda Nayak,Member,Management Committee,Delhi Public School (Rohini),and Delhi Public School Society presided over the function.
In her welcome address Mrs Rita Sen,Principal,Delhi Public School (Rohini),urged the parents to give freedom to their children to realise their dreams. Academics is not the only defining factor for excellence, observed Mrs Sen.
The highlights of Class XII Board results received a huge round of applause. So did the awards given to the differently-abled students for overcoming all odds and achieving success.
NCERT Foundation Day celebrated
Students of Aasmaan (section for the differently abled) along with the regular students of St. Marys School,Dwarka,participated in the 53rd Foundation Day of NCERT. The chief guest was Jitin Prasad,Minister of State for Human Resource Development. The theme of the programme was inclusion of all in education. Students presented a plethora of cultural events,which included Sun beam (an invocation dance),Guru vandana (Kathak dance) and a thought-provoking streetplay on the theme Save Girl Child. The entire show left the audience spellbound,who applauded the participants enthusiastically.
Inter-school contest for young scientists
Springdales School,Dhaula Kuan,held the 9th Dr A K Saha Memorial Young Scientists Experimental Project Inter-School Contest. Dr N. Rathnasree,Director,Nehru Planetarium,presided over the function and said that developing a scientific attitude among children was essential for the progress of society as it leads to new inventions and innovations. Dr Jyoti Bose,Principal,in her address,said that in this age of weapons of mass destruction and chemical warfare,there was much to be done to save our planet and use science for the good of all. The investigatory projects were adjudged by Dr Satya Bhushan,Ph.D in Operation Research and Coordination of the National Talent Search Examinations,Dr Nayan Ahmed,Principal Scientist,Indian Agricultural Research Institute,and Dr Abhijit Sarkar,scientist,Inter University Accelerator Centre.
Kalakriti festival at Hillwoods Academy
Colours are a reflection of life. Art is by nature a luminous experience Hillwoods Academy,Delhi,organised art and craft festival Kalakriti,in which many reputed schools of Delhi participated with great enthusiasm and exuberance. An array of art activities like Ikebana,face painting,paper bag making,miniature painting etc. was organised to let young children express their creativity. applauded the participants for their ingenuity and creativity. The head of the institution congratulated the winners and appreciated their endeavour for excellence and perfection.
Patriotic song contest at Amity
Amity International School,Noida,hosted an inter-school patriotic song competition. Twenty-four schools from Delhi and the NCR participated in the mega event. Founder president,Dr Ashok K Chauhan,and Chairperson of Amity Schools,Dr Amita Chauhan,Leelavati Shastri,among others,were present on the occasion. The programme commenced on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp and an invocation to the Almighty. The Principal,Mrs Renu Singh,welcomed the esteemed judges and participants. Amity International School,Saket,won the first prize,the second prize was bagged by Lotus Valley School,Noida,while the third prize went to Modern School,Barakhamba Road. Vishwa Bharati Public School,Noida,received the consolation prize.
Amity girl wins silver in Belgium
Musckaan Chauhaan of Amity International School,Sector-46,Gurgaon,skated her way to claim a silver medal at Belgium in the Flanders Prix Roller Skating Championship. Being the first woman skater from Haryana to have blazed the trail till date in an international skating championship,the Haryana Skating Association awarded her a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 11,000 in recognition of her hardwork and remarkable achievement. Her path to fame and glory is paved with accolades and medals (an assortment of 37 medals in national skating championships).
