In a bid to ensure free public-police interaction for improved traffic management, the Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday announced the formation of traffic consultative committees. The committees will comprise students, market associations, professionals, transport associations,RWAs and businessmen.

The committees will be constituted for 43 traffic circles across the city, and will have three levels — traffic circles level,DCP range level and all-Delhi level, headed by the joint commissioner and the special commissioner.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said it will be a forum for general public to convey their traffic problems to the police, leading to better management.

The committees constituted at the circle levels will have regular meetings and traffic problems regarding that particular circle will be discussed.

Police have proposed to involve all stakeholders in the meetings and committees.
