Roads leading to Rajpath (from Vijay chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan), Vijay chowk and adjoining areas including North and South fountain, South Avenue, North Avenue, Dara-Shikoh Road, and Church Road, will remain closed.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) has written to Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. The letter highlights that the Delhi Traffic Police “violated traffic control” by stopping traffic movement without SPG’s approval, leading to inconvenience for people and traffic jams.
The officer said 1,907 vehicles were checked and 736 vehicles were returned between 11 PM on November 11 and 5 AM on November 12. Around 1,171 vehicles carrying essential goods were allowed inside the national capital during this period, he said.
