New Delhi: Police personnel at the site in the aftermath of the blast that occurred near Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, killing at least nine people and gutting several vehicles, in New Delhi, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025. (PTI)Since early Tuesday morning, the Faridabad Police have deployed around 800 personnel for combing and search operations in and around Dhauj village following the recovery of explosives and inflammable substances at two places, including at a doctor’s home.
The action comes a day after a blast in a car near Red Fort in Delhi left 13 dead and several injured.
A sizable police force has been deputed near Al Falah University and at Fatehpur Taga — where some of the arms and bomb-making equipment were allegedly recovered during searches across fields and houses in Dahar Colony — officers said.
The doctor, Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganai from Pulwama, who was arrested on Sunday, was a teacher at Al Falah University.
Police sources said the J&K police probe is also underway in Dhauj, for which they are coordinating with local officials. “We are conducting a thorough check in Fatehpur Taga and Dhauj, and the J&K Police is conducting their probe here,” a city police spokesperson said.
A maulana of a mosque adjoining the university campus is also being questioned by the Jammu and Kashmir police, as he “knew the doctor”, Faridabad Police said.
Searches at Fatehpur Taga continued till Monday afternoon.
In a major security operation conducted over the past two weeks, J&K Police Monday had said they have arrested two doctors who were allegedly part of an “interstate and transnational terror module” linked to the terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammad and Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGH).
The two arrested doctors have been identified by the J&K Police as Ganai from Pulwama and Dr Adeel Majeed Rather from Qazigund. Ganai was arrested first and questioned, leading to the arrest of Rather — both were employed at private medical facilities, Ganai in Faridabad and Rather in Saharanpur.
The J&K Police said they also seized 358 kg of explosives suspected to be ammonium nitrate from Ganai’s rented home in Dhauj village on Sunday.
According to J&K Police, the haul was part of a larger cache of arms and ammunition recovered from searches conducted at multiple locations in Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal and Shopian in Kashmir, apart from Faridabad and Saharanpur.
In all, J&K Police said, they recovered a Chinese pistol, a Beretta pistol, an AK-56 rifle, an AK Krinkov rifle and nearly 3,000 kg of IED-making material, including explosives, chemicals, reagents, inflammable material, electronic circuits, batteries, wires, remote control, timers and metal sheets.
