Mathura SSP, Shlok Kumar, said a team of 50 police personnel and 26 inspectors reached the outskirts of Devseras, Modseras, Mandoura and Nagla Meva villages.The second drive of Operation CyHawk—aimed at disrupting organised cyber fraud networks —proved successful with the police scaling up its performance by arresting over 1,000 individuals and tracing Rs 944 crore in defrauded money, the Delhi Police said.
On the details of the operation, police said that Rs 944 crore in defrauded money moved through mule accounts were traced, while 1,146 individuals were bound down along with notices issued to 1,736 suspects—taking the total number of individuals facing legal action to 2,880.
The operation comes almost a month after Cyberhawk 1.0.
“Legal action has been taken against as many as 2,880 persons which is more 200% than previous Operation CyHawk 1.0, 163% more suspects detained for questioning, increase in resolution of FIR by 125% and linking of National Cyber Reporting Platform (NCRP) complaints by 110%,” DCP Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Rajneesh Gupta said in a statement.
South East and Central districts saw one of the best performances during the operation, officers said.
Joint CP Central Range Madhur Verma stated that the Central Range arrested and bound down over 220 cyber criminals during the operation.
Police said that under the drive, a 32-member cyber racket operating a fake call centre in Sarai Rohilla was busted. According to officers, the members behind the call centre deceived people staying abroad by selling fraudulent solutions for Apple devices and other services.
Underlining the scale of the drive, officers said that in the South East district, the team of over 400 personnel raided multiple states and arrested more than 140 individuals.
