A Delhi court on Tuesday dismissed the bail pleas of two security guards arrested in connection with the death of 20-year-old NRI Anmol Sarna.
Sarna had died after partying with his friends on September 14 at an apartment complex in Kalkaji.
The bail was dismissed by Metropolitan Magistrate Deepak Wason on the ground that the allegations against them were serious and the investigation in the case was at an initial stage.
The court,on Friday, had dismissed the bail pleas of Sarnas four friends arrested for possession of illegal drugs,on the ground that they too were suspects in the murder case.
When the friends arrested on lesser charges were denied bail, how could the guards arrested on charges of murder be released, the judge asked. The court, however, granted bail to alleged drug dealer Dushyant Lamba, accused of having helped Sarna and his friends procure drugs on the night of September 14.
According to police,Sarna and his friends had consumed LSD and once the drugs took effect,Sarna became violent.
Security guards were called in by a neighbour and they assaulted Sarna with batons, police had said.
The two guards Surender Bali and Naresh Mishra were arrested for Sarnas murder and four of Sarnas friends Shivank Gambhir,Madhav Bhandari,Pranil Shah and Ritham Girhotra were arrested for possession of illegal drugs.
Later, the police arrested Lamba and two others Bhuwan Sharma and Nehul who allegedly helped Sarna and his friends procure the LSD from Lamba.
Alleging that there were irregularities in the investigation,Sarnas parents had told the judge that the police version of the murder did not explain the nature of injuries on Sarnas body.
