Two men were arrested on Thursday for stealing a Skoda Laura.

Two men were arrested on Thursday for stealing a Skoda Laura. The car as well as some stolen mobile phones were recovered from them,police said.

According to police,Imran Khan alias Bablu Kashmiri (26),a resident of Jamia Nagar,and Arshad alias Badshah,a resident of Okhla Vihar,broke into the house of a businessman in Safdarjung Enclave,stole his car keys and drove away the car.

A case of house break-in and auto theft was registered in Safdarjung Enclave area on August 19.

The accused entered the house through a window and stole three mobile phone,keys of the Skoda Laura and a wallet. They identified the car by using the remote-control system of the key, Chhaya Sharma,DCP (South),said.

Criminal intelligence revealed that Arshad was frequently seen in the area and,hence,the police team focused on tracing him.

On August 29,information was received that Arshad would come to Jamia Nagar with the stolen car to meet his associates. A trap was laid for him and we arrested him when he came there, Sharma said.

During questioning,Arshad reportedly told police that they had stolen the Skoda to fulfill their desire to take a drive on the Taj Expressway.
