Mayor priority: Grievance redressal

Stating that the MCD is an organisation that still requires improvement,new Delhi Mayor Rajni Abbi said she will take all possible steps to ensure that it meets the expectations of the public.

I know we,as an organisation,are not perfect and still there is a lot of scope for improvement, 49-year-old Abbi,who was elected Mayor on Wednesday,said in a message posted on the civic body website.

She said understanding and goodwill between citizens and the civic body are essential for better delivery of civic services,and she wanted to ensure that communication and feedback channels remained open between them.

I will take all possible steps to ensure that we meet the expectations of the public at large, the message read.

The head of the departments concerned will be made personally responsible. Every department will have to send a fortnightly report to the Mayors office with respect to the grievances received and disposed of, she said.
