Man attacks wife with hammer,throws her off first floor

A 37-year-old man tried to murder his wife by first attacking her with a hammer and then throwing her out of their first floor home in the Farsh Bazaar area on Thursday.

A 37-year-old man tried to murder his wife by first attacking her with a hammer and then throwing her out of their first floor home in the Farsh Bazaar area on Thursday.

The police said Sanjay Singh,who works as a photographer in a studio in the area,is absconding. His wife,Manju (34),is in a critical condition in a hospital.

“According to their three children,he found some fault with rotis Manju had served him for lunch and had a violent fight with her after that. He picked up a hammer and struck his wife on the head,chest and shoulders. He then took her and threw her out of the window of their first floor house,” a senior police officer said.

The police said it was Singh’s mother who called them. Manju was rushed to Swami Dayanand Hospital,where her condition is stated to be critical.

The police have registered an attempt to murder case against Singh at the Farsh Bazaar police station on the basis of a complaint filed by his mother.

The police said Sanjay and Manju have been married for 14 years and live in the Kesari Mohalla of Farsh Bazaar.
