Six people were injured after a gas cylinder exploded at a house in Delhi’s Narela on Friday, the police said.
The blast, allegedly caused by gas leak, occurred on the second floor of the house at Swatantra Nagar, near Laxmi Narayan Mandir, on Bawana Road, around 7 am, causing significant damage to the building, said Nidhin Valsan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer North.
Two fire tenders from Delhi Fire Services were rushed to the scene and rescue the victims.
The victims have been identified as Vijay, 28, Bobby, 23, Neelam, 25, Pooja, 30, Aruna, 35, and a 17-year-old minor. They were initially rushed to Raja Harishchandra Hospital, Narela, and four of them were later transferred to LNJP Hospital for further care, the police said.
According to the police, the explosion resulted in the destruction of several walls on the second floor.
The Crime and Forensic Science team has been sent to determine the exact cause of the explosion, DCP Valsan said.
A case has been registered at Narela police station, and further investigations are underway, he added.
