Kareena’s Diwali Bash

For Kareena Kapoor,it is going to be salads in London this Diwali,rather than the sweets in Mumbai. “I will be away from my favourite besan laddoo,boondi laddoo and kaju katli,but most importantly,away from my family,” says the actress who is gearing for the unveiling of her wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool on October 27,a day after the release of her film Ra.One. Kapoor will dress up in a traditional Indian sari,designed by Manish Malhotra,for the event. “When the authorities from the museum came to meet me,they said they wanted me to dress up in traditional Indian attire. But this sari is very different from the nets and chiffons I usually wear. It is a traditional Indian sari,with ethnic work,” she says.

While other Bollywood celebrities have their wax statues at Madame Tussauds in London,Kapoor’s will be at the new museum in Blackpool,which she will also inaugurate. This will be followed by a six-city tour of all the Bollywood actors’ wax statues to London,Hong Kong,Thailand,Dubai and Berlin.

The actress will be accompanied by her mother Babita and her close friend Reena. “Saif will be shooting in Rajasthan for Agent Vinod and Karisma for Dangerous Ishk and dad (Randhir Kapoor) has some work in Moscow.”

It is a busy six months for Kapoor,who will return for a script narration of Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 and then shoot for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine from November to April. With ample on her platter,the wedding plans have of course been placed on the back burner. “As being speculated,the wedding isn’t happening in February. It will happen only once Saif and I are done with our current work commitments. When we decide on a date,we will announce it to the press,” says she.
