Kalmadi may be spared Congress stick,for now

Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi might just succeed in riding over the CWG political storm,at least for the time being.

The Congress Core Group,which met at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence on Friday evening,was reported to have decided against taking any immediate action against Kalmadi. However,the Core Group was understood to have decided to leave it to the Group of Ministers to take a call on the issue.

It also decided against constituting a separate committee to oversee the Games preparations.
