The Department of Journalism at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi, hosted its annual media fest, Indraprastha Dialogue 2025, centered on the theme “Media Matters: Informing, Empowering, and Building Viksit Bharat.” The event featured discussions and sessions with prominent media professionals, offering students insights into the evolving landscape of journalism and communication. Attendees included Malika Malhotra, anchor at Zee News, as the Chief Speaker; Dr Ajit Pathak, President of the Public Relations Society of India, as the Chief Guest; and Radio Jockey Atishay from 104.8 Ishq FM as the Special Guest. Their participation provided students with an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about media's role in shaping public opinion and communication strategies. Malhotra, in her keynote address, shared her experiences in television journalism, addressing various student queries about the field. She spoke about the responsibilities and challenges faced by journalists in today’s rapidly changing media environment and emphasized the importance of credible reporting. Pathak elaborated on the distinctions between Public Relations, Journalism, and Advertising through a relatable analogy, simplifying complex concepts for students. He also reflected on his academic journey and the significance of strategic communication in influencing public perception. RJ Atishay brought a lively and engaging element to the event, sharing personal anecdotes from his career in radio. He discussed the nuances of the radio industry and answered student questions, offering insights into the profession. His interactive session blended entertainment with valuable professional perspectives. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Teacher-in-charge, Dr Neha Jingala, who expressed gratitude to the speakers and acknowledged the enthusiasm of students and faculty members.
