The victim in the rape case that allegedly involved five policemen, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Inderpuri police station, failed to identify her assailants in a test identification parade on Thursday.

Crime Branch sources said she identified SHO Pradeep Kumar, but wrongly identified other policemen, who are not even posted in Inderpuri.

A senior officer said her allegations are now looking weak. Over the past two days,Crime Branch personnel have been recording her statements along with that of her husband’s. “There are certain contradictions,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime),Neeraj Thakur.

Her medical examination in RML Hospital has not confirmed rape or sexual assault. Her clothes have been sent to the forensic laboratory in Rohini and the report is awaited,Thakur added. Sources said CCTV footage from the police station have not revealed anything in her favour either.

Police officers said the woman’s husband is a known bootlegger. Three cases of bootlegging and betting have been registered against him at Inderpuri police station.
