DSA to conduct referee recruitment examinations
The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) referees board has decided to conduct a written examination for the recruitment of football referees both men and women next month at the Ambedkar Stadium. Prior to the examination,which is as per the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Vision India Delhi Pilot Project,the board will also conduct clinic for the aspiring referees.
Those willing to appear in the examination may submit their application forms (in duplicate) with two passport size photographs to the DSA Secretary or to Joginder Singh,Secretary,Referees Board at the DSA office,Ambedkar Stadium,New Delhi (Telephone No.23311821,fax 23351604) along with a fee of Rs50 and an attested copy of the date of birth certificate. The age of the candidates should be between 18 to 35 years.
Man of the Match Chander Thapa struck an unbeaten century (124) before team mate Saurav Kumar scalped five wickets as Ravindra Academy crushed Sonnet Club by 59 runs to enter the final of the Manav Chopra Memorial cricket tournament (under-19) at the Bharat Nagar ground on Monday. Batting first Ravindra Academy amassed 226 runs for the loss of six wickets in 35 overs. In reply,Sonnet could manage only 167. Ravindra Academy will play Telefunken Club on May 23rd in the final.

A fantastic century by man of the match Haryana u-16 player Anish Jain helped Modern Academy beat SBHS Academy by nine runs to enter the quarterfinals of the S Shokeen cricket tournament on Monday. Jain’s 101 included 15 fours and one six. His century was ably assisted by Deepak Sharma,who was more than helpful with his 36. For SBHS,Naveen Sharmas 86 went in vain as he ran out of support during the chase.
