A case under the Arms Act has also been filed against him, police said. (File Photo)Two people have been arrested after the Delhi Police seized 16 countrymade pistols, 41 barrels and eight manufacturing instruments from an illegal manufacturing unit being run from a flat in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut.
Those arrested have been identified as 40-year-old Ikram and the Meerut factory owner Mashook.
According to police, Ikram was held when he was in Delhi to allegedly supply illegal weapons to criminals. Two countrymade pistols and six live cartridges were recovered from him. A case under the Arms Act has also been filed against him, police said.
According to Special CP (Crime) Devesh Shrivastava, Ikram disclosed that he procured weapons from Mashook. Following this, a police team raided an isolated flat in Kashi Ram Colony of Meerut and found the arms factory where 14 countrymade pistols, 41 barrels and eight tools used for manufacturing illegal weapons were seized, and arrested Mashook. He confessed that he has manufactured more than 80 countrymade pistols.
