A day after the South Delhi Police arrested Manish and apprehended a juvenile in the abduction cum murder case of Srikant Singh,investigators on Thursday arrested the third accused. The fresh arrest has led the team to the deceaseds missing Hyundai car which was recovered from the accuseds relatives place in Alwar district in Rajasthan. The main accused,Sanjay Bhattacharya,is however still absconding.
According to police,Sonu was arrested on Thursday from Bengaluru by a team of officers from Dhaula Kuan. The three killers sold the car to Sonu for Rs Two lakh.
During interrogation Manish had revealed that after murdering Srikant and disposing off his body,the three had met Sonu at a dhaba on the Jaipur highway road. There they handed over the car to Sonu and in return received Rs two lakh. From there the three returned to their rented accommodation in Greater Noida. The money is with Bhattacharya,who is yet to be arrested.
Sonu,sources said was traced to Bengaluru with the help of electronic surveillance. The team that was sent to Bangalore arrested Sonu late on Wednesday evening. His transit remand was secured from a local court on Thursday and the team is expected to reach the Capital by Friday morning.
Sonu has allegedlty during interrogation disclosed that he had kept his relatives place in a village in Alwar.Meanwhile,teams of south Delhi Police in co-ordination with the Rewari Police are making continuous efforts to trace Srikants head,which the killers had thrown a few kilometres away from the spot in kasola village in rewari,haryana where the deceaseds body was recovered.
