On Monday morning, a decomposed body of the woman was found buried near the Power Grid Corporation building in Sector 29.An AC technician was arrested on Monday for strangling his 32-year-old female friend, the city police said. The deceased, Jabeeda Khatun, hailed from Assam’s Darrang. The accused, identified as Sanjay (26), lived in Kalyanpur in Rajasthan’s Kotputli.
Jabeeda had gone missing after she left her residence on the intervening night of November 26 and 27, police said. She had told a friend that she was going out with a male friend and would return in two hours. However, as her phone remained unreachable, a complaint was registered at Sector 17/18 police station on December 1.

Police said that Sanjay, who lived with his uncle in Sushant Lok, was in a relationship with Jabeeda. On the night of the incident, the two were in his room, they said, adding that an argument broke out when she insisted on leaving.
“Sanjay took her on his motorcycle to a secluded spot, strangled her and covered the body with mud. He was arrested from Gurgaon later on Monday,” the spokesperson of the Gurgaon Police said.
