Officials said that a man filed a written complaint at the Cyber Crime police station West on April 4 regarding a fraud of Rs 42 lakh. The fraud was related to the investment of money for completing YouTube tasks between March 25 and March 26.
Police said that the accused persuaded the victim into investing money in tasks involving liking videos on YouTube using the Telegram app. Initially, they transferred some money to the victim’s account as profits/commissions. Later, they lured the victim into investing Rs 42 lakh, ultimately defrauding the victim.
During police interrogation, it was also discovered that the accused had transferred the amount from the victim’s bank account, which was operated by accused Sachin Nama. To facilitate the transfer of funds, Sachin had been given Rs 25,000 as a commission.
Police Wednesday arrested the two accused involved in the fraud from Palam Vihar in the city. The accused have been identified as Navdeep Kumawat (22) from Pisangan village, Ajmer district (Rajasthan), and Sachin Nama ( 23) from Akola village, Udaipur district (Rajasthan).
