Greater Noida Authority campaign to curb pollution, keep city free of garbage

With the implementation of Stage 2 of the Graded Response Action Plan in Delhi-NCR, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has intensified its campaign to control pollution and keep the area free of garbage.
N G Ravi Kumar, GNIDA Chief Executive Officer, said on Wednesday, “We will take stringent action against those found burning or piling up garbage.”
He added that GNIDA has divided Greater Noida into 18 parts to ease the process of cleanliness and deployed supervisors and sanitary inspectors to look into the same. “If any garbage or dirt is found in any area, sanitary inspectors and supervisors will inform the concerned vendors or individuals and ensure that the garbage is removed. Those burning garbage will also have to pay a fine,” he added.
The GNIDA said that it has imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on vendors found negligent in collecting and burning garbage.
GNIDA officer on special duty, Abhishek Pathak, said that 132 anti-smog guns have been installed at construction sites in Greater Noida. “We have also deployed 100 water tanks and are using treated water to spray water on the roads and remove dust from trees.”
