Garhwal then stepped on the gas and their first real chance came when Urseni penetrated the Simla defence but his shot was magnificently saved by the goalkeeper. Nigerian Urseni was rewarded three minutes later,though,when he beat the custodian to put his team ahead.

High on confidence,Garhwal controlled the game with superior ball possession and kept on attacking,with G.Kamei regularly feeding the strikers from the right flank. Another brilliant effort from Urseni doubled the lead in the 28th minute as the striker dodged a few defenders before putting the ball in the back of the net.

There was no respite for Simla after the break as Kamei headed in the third goal in the very first minute of the second half. Such was Garhwal’s dominance that if not for a number of saves by the Simla goalkeeper,the scoreline would have been even more lopsided. Simla must have heaved a sigh of relief when Urseni had to leave the field in the 74th minute after picking up an injury. It didn’t matter to Garhwal though,as Kamei finished off the match with a scintillating goal in injury time.
