The process of issuing tower-wise completion certificates to the 34 apartment towers at the Commonwealth Games Village is set to start soon.
Sources in the Lieutenant Governors office on Friday said: We have issued orders to DDA to start the process of issuing tower-wise completion certificates. They should not delay the process any further.
This will provide major respite to allottees who have been waiting for the flats for a year now.
There are a total of 1,168 flats at the Games Village. Emaar MGF,the developer, has sold its share of some 450 flats.
A dispute between the DDA and Emaar over the floor area ration delayed the process of allotment and the matter went to court. This also delayed issuance of completion certificates.
Sources said Emaar could start handing possession of the flats as soon as DDA provides tower completion certificates. There is no clarity yet on how the FAR issue will be sorted out.
The DDA may withhold completion certificate to two towers which would be equivalent to the excess FAR, sources said.
Last Tuesday, the Urban Development Ministry held a meeting with the DDA and Emaar on the FAR matter. This meeting was called after Delhi High Court ordered authorities to meet and decide the issue.
The Ministry is supposed to convey its decision through an affidavit in the High Court. The next date of hearing in the case is February 23.
On January 19,the court made it clear that if the logjam over FAR continues,it would not hesitate in passing an order.
