A gambling ring was busted after a police raid at a farmhouse in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area on Friday night.

A gambling ring was busted after a police raid at a farmhouse in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area on Friday night. As many as 22 persons were arrested and police recovered around Rs 3 lakh and a pistol from them. Police said the farmhouse was partly owned by a Congress leader.

During questioning,the owner said he owns 20 per cent of the property and that it had been let out to a contractor,Jai Kishan. Police are looking for Kishan. After a tip-off,police planned a raid at the farmhouse around 8 pm on Friday. An informer told them that the gamblers were in rooms 118 and 120 of the farmhouse. Police recovered Rs 1.59 lakh from those in room 118 and Rs 1.03 lakh from the others.

Man stages kidnap bid,held<\b>

A 29-year-old man and his accomplice were arrested on Saturday for staging a kidnapping in Gurgaon. According to police,a senior MNC employee filed a complaint at Sadar police station on Friday after his son went missing and he received a ransom call. The alleged kidnappers demanded Rs 50 lakh and said they would kill his son if he did not pay the ransom.

“For the past couple of months,(the son) had borrowed money and had suffered losses. Last month,his father had sold their plot in Faridabad for Rs 39 lakh and he allegedly was eyeing that money. He hired a security guard and asked him to act as a kidnapper and demand money from his family,” Joint CP (Crime) Vivek Sharma said.
