It’s a caravan of fashion that tours the country every year. Celebrating its 10th edition, the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2014 will kick off its five-city journey from Hyderabad on November 15. A preview of the tour was held in Mumbai recently where the line-up of designers for this edition was announced, a list of heavyweights including Abraham & Thakore, Suneet Varma, Neeta Lulla, Namrata Joshipura, Varun Bahl, Gaurav Gupta, Pankaj & Nidhi, Rocky S, Shivan & Narresh and Little Shilpa. Author Chetan Bhagat with actor Boman Irani steered the preview event where it was announced that the fashion tour will travel from Hyderabad to Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Having done her schooling in Hyderabad, designer Neeta Lulla is understandably excited to be kick-starting the season in the city of Nizams on November 15. “I will be presenting a collection which is an enigma in nude and gold colours with flowing, voluminous silhouettes inspired by the Fifties. There will be intricate textures created through ribbon work in satin and ornate handcrafted gota and crystal on tulle and silk,” she says.

To complement the fashion showcase, some of the country’s leading music bands such as Ankur Tiwari, Ash & Ashvin, Boom Bay Central, Karsh Kale, MIDIval Punditz and Shaa’ir + Func have been roped in for live shows. Adding to the mix are specialists from various walks of life, while Bhagat and Irani will be joined by cricketer Wasim Akram and actor Irrfan.
