Four-year-old raped by neighbour in West Delhi

A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in West Delhi on Thursday night. According to police,the girl was raped near her residence at 9 pm while she was going to attend a religious function.

A case has been registered at the Khyala police station and a hunt has been launched for the accused,whose identity has not been disclosed. “We are questioning a few people from the locality. We believe that the girl was raped by somebody who knew her. We can be certain only after further investigations are conducted,” said V Renganathan,Deputy Commissioner of Police (West). “When her relatives found her missing,they went out to search for her. After a while,they found her sitting on a pavement and crying,” added Renganathan. The girl was taken to DDU Hospital where a medical test confirmed sexual assault.

In another incident,a landlord in Outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area allegedly raped a 23-year-old woman on Thursday afternoon.

The woman lives with her husband,who works as a driver,and her five-year-old son.

The landlord had called the victim for a discussion on room rent when he allegedly assaulted her.

The accused was arrested after a medical examination confirmed rape.
