The northwest Delhi police arrested four persons for allegedly killing a jeweller during a robbery in Mukherjee Nagar area on September 5. According to the police,around 90 cases of murder,loot and snatching have been solved with the arrests. The accused have been identified as Narender Kumar (27),Vijay (27),Sandeep (26) and Rajesh Gautam (26). They were arrested from Adarsh Nagar on Thursday on the basis of a tip-off. Two countrymade pistols and two motorcycles,including a stolen one,were recovered from them,the police said. The police said Vijay has allegedly committed about 80 to 90 snatchings in North and Northwest Delhi and Trans-Yamuna areas. He further revealed that he is wanted in more than 15 cases of snatching being tried in different Delhi courts,according to the police.
The gang was allegedly involved in the murder of a jeweller in Mukherjee Nagar on September 5. The 65-year-old jeweller and his son were returning to their residence in Mukherjee Nagar when they were intercepted by six men on two motorcycles near Tagore Park. The moment they stopped,the robbers took out firearms and knives and asked them to hand over their belongings. The jeweller was shot dead when he resisted. The robbers then fled with Rs 15-20 lakh,the police said.
