Raaj Kumar Anand, former Minister for Labour, Social Welfare and SC/ST/OBC, who quit the AAP on April 10, has sent a fresh reminder to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to accept his resignation. The former AAP MLA had resigned in the wake of “prevalent excessive corruption” in the government which led to the arrest of the CM.

“Earlier, they said the CM is in jail, he can’t sign any file… Now, I have written to the CM again, and my team member has visited the CM’s house and submitted the letter… they got the letter but did not say anything… The fresh letter was sent (on Sunday)…,” said Anand. “I met the L-G and raised the matter… It has been four days since his (CM) release but he hasn’t accepted my resignation yet…”

The CM was released on interim bail for 21 days by the Supreme Court. As per his bail conditions, he cannot visit the CMO or the Delhi Secretariat. He shall be bound by the statement made on his behalf that he shall not sign official files “unless it is required or necessary for obtaining clearance of the L-G.”

A senior official from the Social Welfare Department, meanwhile, said: “There is no disruption in the SC/ST department… several files related to the Social Welfare Department are, however, stuck due to the absence of a minister…”

According to L-G House sources, they have not received any file or communication from the CM related to the Social Welfare minister.
