Easy wins for Air India,Collage Group

Akash Bhardwaj had Rohit Prakash caught at point in only the second over. Akash and his new ball partner Mannu Kapoor got thick edges that went for fours as Air India’s Chandan Madan and Naman Sharma made the most of their luck. Naman was severe on Bhardwaj,crunching him for four fours in the third over while left arm spinner Amit Kashyap was taken apart in the eighteenth as Naman smashed him for two sixes and three boundaries over long on.

Madan was dismissed on 78,clean bowled as he tried to hit Kashyap. Naman however launched Kashyap for two more sixes,the second of the over and his fifth overall bringing about the win as well as his century in 62 balls.

In the other match Collage Group registered a comfortable seven wicket win over DDCA XI. Batting first,DDCA lost the highly rated duo of Unmukt Chand and Dhruv Shorey early in the innings. While many batsmen got starts,only Sandeep Kaushik made it count with a 59-ball 67. DDCA faltered in the last ten overs. In their batting Powerplay taken between the 37th and 40th overs,they scored just 33 runs and lost four wickets. Pawan Suyal who took three wickets for 49 was the pick of the bowlers.

Chasing 218,openers Mukul Dagar and Rameez Nayamat raced to 99 by the 13th over. They slowed down while also nearing their respective centuries. As they became circumspect,medium pacer Rahul Tyagi dismissed them up in the space of two overs. Rameez had scored 90 with fourteen fours and a six while Mukul hit 87 with ten hits to the fence and one over it. However there was no twist in the tale as Mahesh Rawat and Kamal Beniwal took Collage to victory with four overs to spare.
