DU student falls off bus,run over

A 20-year-old Delhi University student died on Wednesday,after a Blueline bus ran over him on Mall Road in North Delhi. The bus driver,who managed to escape from the spot,has not been arrested yet. Police said that the incident occurred around 8 am,while the victim,Sandeep Kumar,was travelling on the footboard of the crowded vehicle (Route no. 212/Nand Nagri to Anand Parbat). “The bus was passing through Mall Road when Sandeep lost his grip on the door railing,and fell. The bus driver did not notice him falling and kept on moving,due to which Kumar came under the rear wheels of the bus,” said a police officer. Sandeep was declared brought dead at the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital,police said,adding that an angry mob had damaged the bus after the incident. Sandeep,who was doing his second year BA in Delhi University’s School of Correspondence,was working with the Survey of India at the same time.
