Domestic help found dead at artist couples home

A 35-year-old woman,working as a domestic help at a famous artist couples house in South Delhis Chitaranjan Park,was found dead today morning.

A 35-year-old woman,working as a domestic help at a famous artist couples house in South Delhis Chitaranjan Park,was found dead today morning. Though the police ruled out any foul play,the family of the deceased alleged rape and murder and even pelted stones at the house of the employer.

The police said around 9 am,Nupur Kundu discovered that their maid,Archana Das,had not woken up and went to look for her. Kundu found the maid unconscious on the roof in the servant quarters. We received a call at around 9 am from the owners wife saying that her maid is unconscious and is waking up. We went there and found her dead.

Das worked at the house of a famous artist couple, Subroto and Nupur Kundu,who are both painters. They live with their eight-year-old son in the house.

The maid had been working for the Kundus for more than two years had come to Delhi from Kolkata around seven years ago,along with her family.

The police said Das lived with her husband and three children in a jhuggi in Govindpuri area. At times she used to stay over at the Kundu house, said a police officer.

According to the police there were no visible marks of violence on Dass body and it appeared that she died of natural causes. The doctors saw the preliminary evidence and think that she died because of some respiratory problems, said the police.
