A Team of 35 private doctors set up camp at Ramlila Maidan, offering free medical aid to protesters fasting as part of Hazare’s anti-corruption crusade. Over 700 protesters were rendered free medical service since Friday night, and around 25 were shifted to the Lok Nayak Hospital as their condition had deteriorated.

Dr Sanjeev Chhibber,a cancer surgeon, said: “We extend our support to the anti-corruption movement by offering our services for free. So far,we are a team of 35 private doctors who have volunteered to give free medical aid to Hazare’s supporters.”

“Five of the protesters were in a critical state, and had to be stabilised with intravenous fluids. Malaria is taking its toll on the protesters,” he said. “We had asked the MCD to start fogging the area, but little has been done.”

Nevertheless,by evening,MCD workers had started fogging the area with machines mounted on bicycles.
