Doc among 4 dead in separate accidents in city

A senior police officer said: “It is suspected a heavy vehicle hit him while he was on his way to Pocket-D after attending a function at his brother’s house in Noida. His bike may have slipped from the impact as the road was under construction and uneven.”

Raghuvanshi,originally from Arera Colony of Bhopal,was unmarried and stayed alone in a rented accommodation.

A police officer said they got a call about the accident around 1.25 am on Friday. An officer described the road that Raghuvanshi took on his way home. “All entries,except that from Pocket-A and the road from Madanpur Khadar remain closed between 11 pm and 5.50 am. Raghuvanshi had to take a circuitous route from the Pocket-A entry,” the police said. A case has been registered at the Sarita Vihar police station.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast),Virender Singh Chahel said,“Kunal Raghuvanshi,a senior resident doctor,was in the team of Vineet Suri,a renowned neurosurgeon,who heads the Neurosurgery department in Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.”

In a separate accident,a 26-year-old youth was killed while four of his friends had a narrow escape when their car overturned and kept rolling even after it veered off the road in Chanakyapuri area around 10 pm on Thursday night.

The deceased,Satya Prakash,was crushed under the car. He succumbed to injuries while being rushed to hospital. “Satya Prakash was with his friends,Rakesh Gupta,Naveen and Ravi. At Neeti Marg,near the Pakistan High Commission,the car turned turtle,” said a police officer. Rakesh told the police the driver Ravi was speeding. He has been arrested.

In the third incident,a 21-year-old man was killed while two others suffered injuries,when their scooter plunged 30 feet from the loop of a flyover in Geeta Colony,East Delhi. Police have identified the deceased as Shajuddin.

In the fourth,an unknown youth was crushed to death by a speeding Blueline bus in Shakurpur area of East Delhi on Friday evening.

“The bus was running on route 473. The victim,who was crossing the road near Laxmi Nagar,was run over. The deceased has not been identified. The driver has absconded,” a police officer said.
