“People poured their hearts out about their struggles to make a living under the misrule of the AAP and BJP governments for the last 11 years, as they only got empty promises and nothing to better their lives,” Yadav said.

He was speaking following a meeting held to assess the impact of the Yatra. Addressing mediapersons at the party’s Delhi headquarters, Yadav said the month-long Yatra — divided into four phases — will cover all the 70 Assembly constituencies and conclude on December 4. “All senior leaders will participate in various phases of the Yatra. The second phase starting tomorrow in the Trans Yamuna area will cover 16 Assembly segments,” he said.

Yadav added that the interaction with the residents was “a confidence-boosting experience” for party workers, as those who are “struggling to make ends meet” now wanted the Congress, which had left behind “a robust state” after 15 years of being in power, to form the government.

“Feedback received from the residents will be implemented when Congress comes to power… the poor daily wage earners and street-side hawkers had tales of woes to narrate, as in the absence of designated vending zones, they have to face daily harassment,” Yadav alleged.
