Delhi CM assures synergy with OC

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said the state government would have a great synergy with the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games to ensure that India delivers a successful Games in October next year.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said the state government would have a great synergy with the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games to ensure that India delivers a successful Games in October next year. Dikshit also stressed on having a better communication between the Delhi government and organising committee.

Dikshit paid a visit to the Commonwealth Organising committee headquarters,along with NDMC chairman Parimal Rai. Organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi took her to a round of all the floors of headquarters,where in she also met the operational heads of different departments.

The Delhi CM took her time to understand the functioning of the 34 functional areas of the Organising Committee,particularly in venue operations,sports equipment and catering. She stressed on the need of using recycled paper and promoting green games. She also saw the training of volunteers for the general assembly.

Volunteers have been drawn from Institute of Hotel Management Pusa. OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi gave a 15 minute short presentation of the organising committee’s work.
