Delhi Police have arrested a 60-year-man for making hoax threat calls to two locations in the capital on February 19. Police said Mouharram Ali, a resident of Seelampur, threatened to set off bombs in the two locations “if JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar is not released”.
Police said the first call was made to Anand Vihar railway station at about 2 pm and the second to the Indira Gandhi International Airport. “Mouharram made the calls from the same location,” said DCP (IGI) Dinesh Gupta.
Police said based on call detail records, they arrested a man, identified as Mojahid Ali, from whose phone the calls were made. However, Mojahid claimed he did not make the calls. Police also found that the SIM belonged to Mouharram.

“After investigation, it was revealed that Mouharram had a dispute with Mojahid and wanted revenge. Mouharram used Mojahid’s identification papers to procure a SIM card,” said the DCP.
“Moharram knew that the threats would create a sensation.. he also told police that he had been sent to jail sometime ago over a fight with a family member,” said a police officer.
