In the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flat scam,non-bailable warrants have been issued against two financiers who have been on the run.

The names of Suresh Kumar Meena and Vijay Patanjali were mentioned by main accused M L Gautam (former DDA official) and agent Deepak Kumar during interrogation.

“These two are associates of the accused. We summoned them several times to come forward and cooperate in investigations,” a senior police officer said. “But they did not respond,so the non-bailable warrants have been issued. They have to be produced before the court by February 20.”

Officials said Suresh had provided funds to Deepak and Gautam for applying for flats in the reserved category. Vijay is reportedly the person to whom a cheque of Rs 4.5 lakh was given by Deepak.

Besides these two,the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has identified five financiers who funded Gautam. Sources said the police would soon seek non-bailable warrants against them. Out of the 18 financiers named by Gautam, most are from Delhi and the NCR region.

The police said they are analysing the call details of these 18 persons. “We tried to get their locations by putting some numbers on surveillance, but their phones have been switched off. Few places named by Gautam and Deepak were also raided,” said an officer. “As soon as they are caught (Suresh and Vijay),more persons and other sources of funds will be known.”
