A 20-something bride-to-be,posts three different letters – one which includes a song – to her three possible fathers, the names of whom she has learned from her mother’s diary. What follows is a song and dance routine of the girl trying to find out who her real father is,amid her mother’s protests. A new version of the heart-warming Mamma Mia! —– the popular stage musical written by British playright Catherine Johnson and based on the songs by the famous Swedish pop group ABBA,will come alive at the brand new auditorium at Gargi College in Delhi on Saturday.

Directed by veteran theatre person George Pulinkala, this 100-minute musical stars more than sixty students. Pulinkala, who has staged musicals like Fiddler on the Roof,Annie and Peter Pan in the past, says that he has tried to be as faithful to the original Broadway hit as possible.

“We are performing songs and all the musical sequences live, and each song is choreographed and timed. We have more than 32 dancers,12 principal actors and 22 singers in the show. They are all students and have worked hard for over two months,” said Pulinkala, adding that he has used all the original scores by ABBA.

Mamma Mia! will be staged on January 28 at 6:30 pm,at Gargi College,Siri Fort Road,New Delhi
