Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal allegedly used a derogatory word for policemen.
A Delhi Police constable has lodged a criminal defamation complaint against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly using a derogatory word for policemen.
Harvinder Singh, who is posted at the Govindpuri police station in southeast Delhi, said in his complaint that he was hurt by the word “thulla” (slang for a policeman) used by the chief minister in an interview to a news channel.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said that it was a “non-cognisable offence”.
He said that Singh had watched the interview on television, adding that the complaint had been forwarded to senior police officers, including Police Commissioner B S Bassi. A similar complaint was also filed at Lajpat Nagar police station.
