A Delhi Police constable was shot dead in his car in Karala village in Outer Delhi,on Friday night. Police said the constable,Rajinder Singh Khatari (35),was posted at the Rithala Metro station police post. Four bullets were fired at him,three of which were found lodged in his car,with the fourth hitting him on the shoulder. Officials said the cause of death seemed to be excessive bleeding.
A senior police official said,At around 11.45 pm on Friday night,Khatari was on his way home to Punjab Khod village in Kanjhawala where he lived with his wife and parents. Assailants stopped his car and shot him. We received a PCR call around 11.53 pm from a passerby,who saw a Hyundai Accent car parked in a strange manner and a man lying in a pool of blood in the drivers seat. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Preliminary reports suggest he was attacked due to personal enmity,as all his belongings were found intact.
Khatari is survived by his wife and three children.
Police officials said that a case of murder had been filed against unknown persons at the Kanjhawala police station in Outer Delhi.
