Smriti named best player
Smriti Mehra was adjudged the Hero Player of the Year,at the Hero-Womens Golf Association of India awards function hosted by the DLF Golf and Country Club for the just concluded 2011-12 season. Smriti took part in each of the 15 events that were organised and went on to win seven of them to top the order of merit a rise of four places from where she stood last season. She also finished second in four other tournaments to cap a successful season that won her Rs. 8,07,100,helping her finish way ahead of Nalini Singh Siwach,who with three titles this season finished second on the merit list for the second year in a row. Sharmila Nicollet was the other multiple title winner.
