GHAZIABAD: A 10-year-old boy was killed after he fell into a tank containing chemicals used in a plant run by a local Congress leader,police said. The boy,Bilal,fell into the pool at Nasib Vihar Colony in Loni on Friday evening while playing. He became unconscious,after which he was rushed to a hospital. Bilal passed away on Saturday. Police said the pool,which was left open and unattended,was being used to clean bottles containing chemicals for Congress leader Laxman Bajaj’s plant. The Congress leader could not be contacted.

2 boys drown in Yamuna,bodies not found

NEW DELHI: Two boys,Sandeep (21) and Virrapan (22),drowned in the Yamuna river near Timarpur in Sonia Vihar on Sunday. The incident occurred around 8 pm. Police said the boys,both hailing from Uttar Pradesh,had come to the river for a swim. “They drowned because the tide was high,” said I B Rani,DCP (North). Though a rescue operation was launched as soon as the police were informed about the incident,they had to stop it later in the night.

Patient dies after fall from hospital

Faridabad: A patient died after falling from the third floor of a government hospital here on Sunday,police said. Durga Prasad,the victim,was admitted to the hospital on June 30 with multiple illnesses,sources said. “Around 1 pm,he said he wanted to take a bath and went to the washroom. Later,I came to know that he had fallen from the third floor,” Prasad’s wife said.
