Sarpanch gunned down,assailant lynched by mob
Gurgaon: The sarpanch of Hayatpur village near Gurgaon was chased and killed by four men on Thursday. An angry crowd,which gathered at the spot,caught one of the men,assaulted him and later set him on fire. A suspected contract killer,the man who suffered 80 per cent burns died in hospital later. According to police,four youths had come to the village square on a motorcycle around 2 pm. The sarpanch,Rakesh Yadav,was playing cards with other men. When Yadav tried to flee the spot,the four chased him and shot him dead. Ten police teams have been formed to arrest the other accused.
Police arrest third man in GK III murder case
New Delhi: Three days after two men were arrested for abducting and killing Vinod Kumar Gupta,a builder based in GK III,the south east district police on Wednesday arrested the third accused,Dalip,30,a resident of Pratapgarh in UP. Gupta was abducted on June 17 and murdered at his own plot in Sector 92,Noida. Dalip was arrested from Palla village in Faridabad .
After 10 years,man acquitted in arms case
New Delhi: A man allegedly found in possession of a country-made pistol has been acquitted after a decade-long trial. A Delhi court said on Thursday that the police may have planted the weapon on him. “Circumstances of the case probablise false plantation of case properties against the accused,and simultaneously make the existence of the police party a bit doubtful,” Metropolitan Magistrate Siddharth Mathur said while acquitting Walled City resident Mohd Furkan under the Arms Act case.
