Six held for hoarding BPL foodgrains
Six persons were arrested by the South Delhi police for hoarding foodgrains meant for people below the poverty line. They were nabbed during a raid at a fair price shop godown at Sector 3 in Saket Vihar,from where large quantities of rice and wheat were recovered. Jagdish Prasad,who used to run the shop,was also arrested. Stating the racket has been going on for over six months,the police said 830 quintals of rice and wheat have been recovered. Subeh Singh Malik,the shops licence-holder,is being questioned.
DK gangrape: 5 sent to judicial custody
A Delhi court on Friday sent the five accused in the Dhaula Kuan gangrape case in 14 days judicial custody after the police submitted that they were no longer required for custodial interrogation. Metropolitan Magistrate Sushant Changotra said,The accused have been sent to judicial custody till December 24.
20 properties sealed in East Delhi
The MCD demolished unauthorised portions of 17 buildings and sealed 20 other properties on Friday,the third day of its drive against illegal constructions in East Delhi. With this,the corporation has taken action against 107 unauthorised constructions in Shahdara (South) Zone.
RTR flyover closed to traffic today
The Rao Tula Ram flyover will be be closed to traffic from 12 noon on Saturday till Sunday afternoon to carry out modifications to facilitate traffic on both carriageways.
