New Delhi:A 28-year-old man and his friend lost their lives on Wednesday morning after their Hyundai Accent rammed into a pile of bricks in Alipur,Outer Delhi. Police suspect that Rishi fell asleep while driving in Khanpur village. Rishi,a resident of Patparganj,was returning from a trip to Vaishno Devi shrine with his friend Saurabh (25).

Metro emergency brakes thwart suicide attempt

New Delhi:A 60-year-old man attempted suicide by jumping in front of a Delhi Metro train at Tilak Nagar station,West Delhi,on Wednesday. The driver of the Metro applied emergency brakes,which saved the mans life. He was identified as Gurneet Singh Lamba,resident of Usha Park. He suffered minor injuries.

36-year-old held for stealing scooter

New Delhi:A 36-year-old man was arrested for vehicle theft from Northwest Delhi on Tuesday. Police claimed to have solved two cases of vehicle theft. The man,Praveen Kumar,is a resident of Paschim Vihar. Kumar was apprehended from Jheel Park on Sunday while he was trying to steal a scooter, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest),P Karunakaran.
