Five unidentified men robbed a 51-year-old jeweller of Rs 24,000 and 400 grams of gold at gun point on Monday while he was returning home from Chandni Chowk,police said.

New Delhi: Five unidentified men robbed a 51-year-old jeweller of Rs 24,000 and 400 grams of gold at gun point on Monday while he was returning home from Chandni Chowk,police said. According to police,the incident was reported in North Delhi’s Kotwali area on Monday night. Police suspect the accused had been trailing the victim. The victim received minor injuries when he was hit by the robbers. A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station.

Five schoolchildren who helped avert air tragedy to be awarded

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced a cash award of Rs 50,000 each to the five school students who helped avert a possible air disaster by informing authorities about flames coming out of a New York-bound Air India plane nine days ago. The students will be felicitated during the Independence Day celebration on August 15. The flight had 339 passengers and 16 crew members on board.
