Rs 7 lakh snatched in Karol Bagh
New Delhi: An employee of a footwear shop in Karol Bagh was robbed of Rs 7 lakh cash while he was leaving a bank with the money on Monday afternoon. According to police,the complainant was coming out of HDFC bank on Gurudwara Road in Karol Bagh. Two men on a motorcycle snatched his bag and escaped, a senior police officer said.
Two arrested in Anand Vihar for murder
New Delhi: Police arrested two persons on Monday for murdering a man in West Delhi earlier this month. One of the accused allegedly wanted to marry the victims wife,police said. According to police,Guddu Kumar (27) and Raju Kumar (21) were arrested from Anand Vihar on Sunday for murdering Janardhan in Moti Nagar on September 14. The duo were arrested after the victims wife told us that her husband had gone out with Raju on September 13, said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan. Guddu reportedly wanted to marry Munni Devi,Janardhans wife,and planned to kill him with Rajus help,police said.
Three arrested for handing out fake notes
New Delhi: Police arrested three persons on Monday from Southwest Delhi for cheating people by giving them fake currency notes. The accused Siddharth Puri,Enemul Hassan and Vipin Kumar had allegedly cheated a driver of Rs 40,000. The driver,Baljeet Siddhu,informed the police. Siddhu had gone to a bank in Dwarka Sector-10 to deposit Rs 40,000 when two of the accused approached him and asked him a few questions related to the bank, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) A K Ojha. After taking Siddhu into confidence,the accused struck a deal with him,where Siddhu agreed to give them Rs 40,000 in exchange for Rs 1.5 lakh,police said. Later,when the complainant checked the currency notes,he realised they were plain paper cut into the size of currency notes.
