Man held for raping step-daughter

New Delhi: A 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 15-year-old step-daughter. The accused was arrested on Monday from Dwarka. Police said he had raped his step-daughter on Sunday evening,while his wife was in Chandigarh for some work. “Medical examination has confirmed rape and the man is in judicial custody,” said A K Ojha,Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West).

Bail denied to three accused in CWG case

New Delhi: The High Court on Tuesday refused anticipatory bail to three businessmen evading arrest for their alleged roles in a corruption case involving award of a contract to a Swiss firm for installing timing,scoring and result (TSR) system for 2010 Commonwealth Games. The court turned down the plea of Anil Kumar Madan and Purushottam Dev Arya,promoters of Faridabad-based Gem International,and that of A K Reddy,owner of Hyderabad-based AKR Constructions,after noting that they had not co-operated with the investigation.

One killed in accident on Gurgaon Expressway

GURGAON: A person died in a road accident on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on Tuesday. According to officials,the victim,Mukesh Kumar,was riding a bike on the slow lane when a speeding truck came from behind and rammed him. He was dragged for about 50 metres. The driver,Pawan Kumar tried to escape but was caught by locals and corridor team and handed over to the police. Mukesh was a resident of Lado Sarai in Delhi.
