Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said that all files related to projects that are funded by the Chief Minister’s Development Fund (CMDF) should be sanctioned without any delay.
Gupta was attending a review meeting on the progress of developmental works and pending projects in Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency, for which she was appointed the minister-in-charge on Thursday.
“All files related to projects under the CMDF currently awaiting approval should be prioritised, sanctioned without delay, and executed within the stipulated time frame,” she told officials at the meeting.
She added that there should be better coordination between the MCD, Traffic Police, Delhi Jal Board and other government departments, with updates on daily progress maintained on the e-file system, officials added.
Officials further said that Gupta’s appointment as the minister-in-charge of Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency is aimed at ensuring regular communication with elected representatives, close monitoring of projects, and timely redressal of public grievances.
At the meeting, highlighting shortage of urinals, particularly pink urinals, Gupta directed the officials to draw up a blueprint for the installation of pink urinals in the markets of Old Delhi.
She also said that looking at the rising number of stray cattle, particularly cows, on the streets – both safety and traffic hazards – the government will construct 11 cow shelters in phases, equipped with proper facilities for food, medical care, and safe housing.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal, issues like encroachments, traffic congestion, public urinals, as well as repair and installation of streetlights, among others, were discussed.
